Investment Management

Plancorp takes an academic approach to investing that is based on Modern Portfolio Theory, a theory founded on the idea that there is an optimum portfolio strategy resulting in the maximum return for every level of risk.

Plancorp's investment education program helps clients understand investment risks and returns. After assisting clients in determining their tolerance for risk, we then construct a portfolio that lies on the Efficient Frontier, the theoretical curve connecting those portfolios that optimize return for the level of risk most suitable for the client.

Plancorp receives no commission income from the sale or recommendation of any financial product or service. As a "fee only" investment advisory firm, we are only paid by our clients. This ensures the total independence and complete objectivity of all of our recommendations.

In addition, Plancorp takes custody of no client assets. All client assets are held at one of three custodians: Charles Schwab and Company, Fidelity Investments, or TD Ameritrade Institutional.
