Mike is a product of Jesuit education: St. Louis University High, Rockhurst University and an MBA from St. Louis University. His work experience began as a high school math teacher and wrestling coach. He then served in the US Army, which included a year in Vietnam (1970). Mike began his financial career with A.G. Edwards, then co-founded in 1975 Bruno, Stolze & Company, the area's first discount stock brokerage firm. The firm was sold in 1998 to Mercantile Bank (now US Bancorp).
Mike's interests outside the office include golf, reading, dining out and spending time at their home in Park City, Utah. He lives in Webster Groves with his wife Kathy. They have three adult boys
