To investment pros, bitcoin looks like a classic bubble

“I have had a lot of friends giving me all sorts of trouble, saying, ‘Why didn’t you tell me to invest in bitcoin?’” says Chris Kerckhoff, president of Plancorp in Town and Country. “It does seem like this is being driven by the fear-of-missing-out mentality.”

Plancorp builds portfolios based on research and decades of data. Bitcoin, created in 2010, doesn’t have enough history to know how it will be affected by a recession, rising interest rates or a stock market crash.
