Plancorp Client Updates Regarding The TD Ameritrade Acquisition

 Plancorp Team By: Plancorp Team

Announced in 2020, TD Ameritrade Institutional was acquired into Schwab Advisor Services (Schwab), kicking off a multi-year integration process. Much of the integration work will not impact end-users directly, but we have created this page to house the latest information and any actions our clients need to be aware of to maintain your preferences and service level from TD Ameritrade.

One upcoming change affects how your existing e-delivery preferences will be merged into the new system. Beginning with the July 2022 statements, TD Ameritrade Institutional will require end clients of advisors to establish a user ID and password through AdvisorClient® and log in to maintain their enrollment in electronic delivery of statements, confirms, and any other communications. These changes will apply to existing and new accounts going forward.

What this means for you:

  • There will be no impact to clients who are currently enrolled in e-delivery and have logged into AdvisorClient.
  • Clients who are currently enrolled in e-delivery with TD Ameritrade but have not established a user ID and password through AdvisorClient by July 22, 2022, will have their e-delivery preferences changed to paper delivery beginning with their July 2022 statements that will be mailed in early August.
  • If your clients' delivery preference switches from electronic to paper, they can easily re-enroll in electronic delivery by establishing a user ID and password in AdvisorClient.com and managing their electronic delivery preferences through the portal.

There are instructions on creating your account and maintaining your e-delivery preferences in this guide

TD Ameritrade expects to contact impacted clients directly on May 17, 2022 with reminders in June and July.

We will keep this page updated with any further updates from the merger process that affect our clients. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your wealth manager directly.
