About Me

Farah Alam joined the Plancorp team in October 2023 as the next step in her 10+ year investment management career. After graduating from the Olin Business School with an MBA in Finance and Consulting, Farah began her career with Piper Sandler’s MLP & Energy Infrastructure asset management team, where she developed expertise in quantitative and fundamental research, portfolio construction and new product design, asset allocation models, index creation and management. The team managed $2bn to over $5bn over market cycles.

For the prior three years, Farah worked with the Corporate Finance team at Tortoise Capital Advisors and leveraged her quantitative research skills across teams and products, while also managing the internal indices which were associated with $500mm plus in ETF assets.

Farah brings her investment expertise with her to the Plancorp investment team and is dedicated to helping clients achieve their financial independence goals.

Farah lives in Clayton, MO with her husband and daughter. She and her husband both grew up in India and moved to St. Louis so Farah could pursue her graduate studies at Washington University in St. Louis. Outside of work, Farah is passionate about giving back to the community. She enjoys reading, being outdoors, and spending time with her family and friends.
