About Me

Mary is a Financial Wellness Advisor at Plancorp. She is passionate about helping clients feel more empowered and confident in managing their finances. Mary has over a decade of experience as an educator, a personal finance blogger, and a financial professional. Her background in education and counseling has given her many tools that help her guide her clients. Mary has assisted thousands of clients make decisions about saving for retirement, optimizing savings, planning for purchases, managing equity compensation, understanding workplace benefits, and improving cash flow management.


Mary’s interest in personal finance started when she earned her first dollar from babysitting and continued when her grandparents gifted a share of stock and she reviewed its performance in the newspaper. As a wellness advisor, she combines her love for education and helping others with a subject she enjoys.

Mary is married to a Retired Coast Guard Veteran and has three sons and a daughter. After moving every few years during her spouse’s military service including tours in Washington, D.C., Charleston, S.C., and Honolulu, HI, Mary is happy to be settled in Holly Springs, North Carolina. When not working, Mary enjoys the three R’s: reading, running, and rooting for her favorite sports teams, including her kids’ soccer teams. She considers herself a lifetime learner and always has both a great fiction novel and a new personal finance book on her Kindle.
