About Me

Ranie is a native of Marion, Illinois. She moved to St. Louis in 2002 for an internship and returned immediately after completing graduate school and her CPA exam in 2003. Ranie joined Plancorp in 2019 with over 17 years of experience in the accounting and finance industries.

She quickly transitioned into the role of Director of Advisor Success early in 2020, focused on training, equipping and growing our advisor team. In 2021, Ranie advanced into the role of Director of Wealth Management and a Shareholder of the firm.  In her current role, Ranie lives out her passion for cultivating advisors and curating career paths, while managing the day-to-day operations of the team.  Ranie continues to serve as a financial advocate for our clients, assisting with complex tax and estate issues.  In all of her roles, she focuses on building deep relationships with those she serves.

In 2018 Ranie was presented with the Emerging Saluki Leadership Award by the College of Business, which recognizes graduates of the SIUC College of Business for outstanding accomplishments and service. Ranie has a passion for ensuring local students have access to an affordable degree from an accredited program. She helped establish SIU’s original Associate Board for the School of Accountancy, which reinstated the CPA review course on campus and provides scholarships for the course.

Outside of the office, Ranie spends most of her time with her husband Doug, two daughters River & Reagan, and their dog Scout. The Verby family are active members of Bonhomme Presbyterian Church. In her time alone, whenever it happens, Ranie is a bookworm, and strives to read upwards of 50 books each year, in a variety of genres. Her book club and the relationships resulting from it are some of the most valuable in her life, and she credits this group of strong women with much of her personal success.
