About Me

Ranie Verby joined the Plancorp team in 2019 as a Senior Wealth Manager, and quickly advanced to the role of Director of Wealth Management. After spending the first decade of her career in corporate tax services, she transitioned to personal wealth management services in 2014.

Ranie was drawn to Plancorp because of her firm belief in the power of team-based advising and the strong company culture. She desired to be a part of a small and rapidly growing firm, and now gets to play a crucial role in cultivating our culture and our growth.

As the Director of Wealth Management, she is responsible for the training and development of our advising team, as well as managing the day-to-day operations of the team. Her work ensures that our advisors are the best they can be for our clients, and our strategies and technologies are always on the cutting edge of the latest industry standards and developments. Ranie also serves as a financial advocate for our clients, and is often brought in to advise on complex situations.

Ranie received the Emerging Saluki Leadership Award by the SIUC College of Business in 2018, which recognizes graduates for outstanding accomplishments and service. She has a passion for ensuring local students have access to an affordable degree from an accredited program. She helped establish SIU’s original Associate Board for the School of Accountancy, which reinstated the CPA review course on campus and provides scholarships for the course.

Outside of the office, Ranie spends most of her time with her husband Doug, two daughters River & Reagan, and their dog Scout. They are active members of Bonhomme Presbyterian Church. Ranie is a bookworm, and strives to read upwards of 50 books a year in her free time. Her book club and the relationships resulting from it are some of the most valuable in her life, and she credits this group of strong women with much of her personal success.
